“On the eleventh day of Holiday Cocktails, my true love made for me…
…eleven sugar cookie martinis!”
Just as the name describes, it is a sweet drink! Too sweet? Not really…but we may adjust a bit on the ingredients to reduce the sweetness without taking away the namesake flavor. I found the recipe at crazyforcrust.com, and only veered slightly when I didn’t find one of the three ingredients — the Frosted Sugar Cookie coffee creamer by International Delight. Fortunately, there were suggestions for substitutes.
Our ingredients list:
- 1 oz Vanilla Vodka (I used Absolut Vanilla)
- 1 oz Amaretto (I found some under the Trader Vic label – very good)
- 2 oz Frosted Sugar Cookie coffee creamer, or Vanilla coffee creamer (I content that half-and-half cream would taste great)
For the chilled martini glass rimmer, I used the left-over vanilla sugar we made for Day One’s vanilla pear cocktail. Since there was no lemon or lime to wet the rim of the glasses, I used Karo light syrup and the sugar was able to cling to that rim like a magnet!
We may have had just a little bit too much thai take-out dinner tonight to continue adjusting and sipping and reflecting on the eleventh cocktail of the 2016 holiday season. Tomorrow, New Year’s Eve, will feature the last item listed on our painted holiday kitchen towel — flutes of champagne. But of course, we’ll be serving them with some ‘accessories’ to make them another perfect holiday cocktail to ring in the new year!
